Carmen Ri is a popular fashion blogger in London. She is so sweet and such a fun character. I interviewed Carmen a few weeks ago and wanted to share it with you all. Hope you enjoy the interview; and make sure to stop by and visit her blog by just clicking on her name at the top of this paragraph!
Amanda: What does fashion mean to you?
Carmen: For me, I would say that it is definitely a way to express myself, and I love creating characters with
each outfit!
Carmen: Little girl gets dressed up! Haha. It changes from day to day so this is probably the best description.
Amanda: Do you feel music can influence fashion? Why?
Carmen: It definitely can, a lot of people are influenced by musicians and how they dress. For instance, the grunge/Cobain look that is associated with Kurt Cobain. And for me it definitely influenced how I dressed when I was younger. It was all skinny jeans and heavy eyeliner and neon colour tutus. Haha.
Amanda: I agree! I think music has a tremendous amount to do with fashion. Mainly from what the musicians where and how they wear it. So what do you think your style says abut you?
Carmen:That hopefully that I don't take myself too seriously, and that in my mind, I definitely haven't grown up yet.
Amanda: Who are some of your favorite designers?
Carmen: I don't have a lot of favourite designers, as I don't specifically pay attention to them. But I always love Miu Miu. I tend to like smaller brands like MinkPink. I could wear EVERYTHING they come out with. Also Bitching and Junkfood, their shorts are amazing.
Amanda: Are there any trends that you love right now?
Carmen:I like the neon trend a lot. Bright colours make me happy!
Amanda: What are your favorite clothing stores/websites/catalogs?
Carmen:I love Ebay for vintage clothes, you can find some amazing things on there! Urban Outfitters for MinkPink. Nastygal is one of my favourites to look at as well.
Amanda: Where are you from?
Carmen: I'm from London, England. But I'm half Japanese.
Amanda: What are your favorite hobbies?
Carmen: Acting, singing really loudly, rollerskating, eating, and reading
Amanda: Describe yourself. What do you think about yourself and do you think people perceive you in the same way?
Carmen: I'm a really happy person, and that I laugh at stupid things that nobody really laughs at but me and very nice. Probably too nice sometimes. Mostly people I know perceive me as little and cute, haha, even though I'm not that little anymore!
Amanda: Who is one celebrity that you would like to meet?
Carmen: Gemma Arterton, I love her! Or Quentin Tarantino, he sounds fun.
Amanda: I love Gemma Arterton also. She always look great in every style. So on another topic, what is your favorite quote?
Carmen:I can't think of a serious one, all I'm getting is silly ones. Though there is a really funny one from The Dresden Files, which goes roughly like this "Somewhere, a village is missing it's idiot." That's one of the funniest lines I think I've ever read.
Amanda: Do you have any goals in your life you would like to meet?
Carmen: Definitely act, so right now my main goal is to get into drama school.
