Meet Stefany from Inspiration by S. An intelligent student going to school for law, but at the same time, a fashion fanatic like the rest of us fashion bloggers. She's very well-rounded. She's loves the hectic city life but also loves the adorable rustic feel of a small town. This interview will help you get to know Stefany. Stop by her blog and make sure you read her post! It's fabulous and fun.
Amanda: What does fashion mean to you?
Stefany: It means art, self expression, a way to individualize oneself in a world where it’s easier just to blend in. I love fashion and how anything can be inspiration for it.
Amanda: How would you describe your personal style?
Stefany: I always have a hard time answering this question but my roommates have always said that my style is more Bohemian with some edgy and elegant twists. I love loose fitting sweaters and earthy tones but I also love leather jackets, tie up boots, or having a lace dress. Is there a label that mixes all those three things? If so, I’m that.
Amanda: What does your style say about you?
Stefany: Hmm, I guess it would say that I love being comfortable before anything else. As much as I’ll sacrifice some things for the love of fashion, I value comfort above all. I love styles and outfits that look effortless and comfortable so I’m naturally drawn to that.
Amanda: Who are some of your favorite designers?:
Stefany: I love Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta, and Marc Jacobs. They could take anything and make it perfectly elegant and timeless.
Amanda: Are there any trends that you love right now?
Stefany: Knee high socks above the boots. I’ve recently bought a ridiculous amount of tights and knee high socks because of this. Haha.
Amanda: What are your favorite clothing stores/websites/catalogs?
Stefany: My wardrobe mainly consists of Urban Outfitters, Forever21, H&M, and thrift shops. If I’m in the mood to splurge, I’ll look at Anthropologie as well.
Amanda: Where are you from?
Stefany: I was born in Dominican Republic but currently reside in New Jersey.
Amanda: What are your favorite hobbies?
Stefany: Aside from shopping, I love reading, blogging, watching HGTV, and spending time with my mom, friends, and boyfriend. Is eating out considered a hobby? I would be the queen of that. That’s all my friends and I do. Nothing is better than catching up with friends over a good meal.
Amanda: Describe yourself. What do you think about yourself and do you think people perceive you in the same way?
Stefany: I’m girly, but I hate pink. I love the city, but find beauty in rustic little towns. I’m very family oriented and I love being surrounded by people but there are times where I can be alone all day and be content. I have conflicting ideas about myself as it’s hard to truly know who one is at age 21, but I know I’ll get there. I know what I like and what I don’t like so I guess I’m making some progress. I’m sure those who are close to me perceive me this way. Life is all about discovering and rediscovering so I think it’s okay if others perceive me as this conflicting girly girl who hates pink, loves the city and the suburbs, is family oriented but loves alone time.
Amanda: Who is one celebrity that you would like to meet?
Stefany: Just one? Oh man. I’d want to say Adriana Lima. She seems so confident whenever she struts down the runway and just seems like she would be so much fun to hang out with.
Amanda: What is your favorite quote?
Stefany: “If you are true to yourself, you cannot be false to anyone else” by William Shakespeare. I love it. I think it embodies what every independent person wants. As long as one knows who they are, there is no way they’ll change who that is just to please someone else. Confidence is always key. =]
Amanda: Do you have any goals in life you would like to meet?
Stefany: I want to study in some realm of International Law. I’m slowly but surely reaching that goal as I’ve already gotten into law school so I’m excited to make that goal a reality.
I'd like to thank Stefany for letting me interview her and also for letting be be a guest on her magnificent blog. Check out my guest appearance here.
